2016 Pharmacy Technician of the Year
Point Pleasant, W.Va. (October 27, 2016) – Fruth Pharmacy is pleased to announced Kim Phelps took home 2016 Pharmacy Technician of the Year at Fruth Pharmacy’s 26th Annual Service Awards.
“I am humbled. I love what I do. I love bringing a smile to a customer’s face,” Phelps stated during her acceptance speech.
Phelps was 1 of 3 nominees for Pharmacy Technician of the Year. Latisha Finan of Nelsonville, Ohio and Tiffany Miller of Scott Depot, WV, were also nominated. Nominations come from customers, fellow employees, and supervisors.
Phelps nomination comes directly from her customers. One customer wrote Fruth Pharmacy to describe what an asset Phelps was to the team in Hurricane: “In 2013, I had a kidney transplant. Anyone familiar with transplants knows lots of medicines are required to keep your body from rejecting the new kidney. After working for a company for close to 30 years, I was laid off before I needed a transplant so I had no health insurance except Medicare, and for a while, I didn’t have that. I didn’t know Kim at the time but she went so far above and beyond for me. She worked directly with the transplant clinic social worker to find any money out there to help pay for my meds. She helped me find ways to get my meds cheaper with the Fruth Card program, if I had no way to pay full price.”
Another customer wrote in, “It is obvious Kim loves her job. I worked with the public for years before I retired and it’s not an easy job. Kim always goes the extra mile!!! If I have a question or problem she will get it answered or solved. She is a great asset to Hurricane Fruth!”
A third anonymous customer sent this statement to Fruth, “She has been a Godsend to me, and because of her I switched my mom to Fruth for all her needs. I don’t know if all pharmacy techs are as good, but I do know you have a gold mine in Kim Phelps.”
Fruth Pharmacy honored Phelps and her fellow nominees during the 26th Annual Service Awards with a luncheon.
