Angel Kimble Joins Fruth Pharmacy
Through a partnership with Marshall University School of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Angel Kimble, will be joining Fruth Pharmacy’s staff. Dr. Kimble obtained her PharmD from Ohio Northern University. She is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy. Her residency was completed at VAMC in Huntington, WV.
Kimble will be providing one-on-one patient medication checkups on the phone and in-person at several Fruth pharmacies. She will also be completing Comprehensive Medication Reviews and Face-to-Face Diabetes Counseling. Kimble plans to focus the majority of her time with Fruth in Huntington, and Ironton. In addition, she will be helping to launch the Fruth Pharmacy pilot of Time My Meds, a program that will synchronize medications of patients who take a large number of medications each month. The program allows patients to get all of their medications refilled at the same time each month, saving trips to the drug store and helping with adherence.
“I understand the overwhelmingness with the software for many of the clinical programs. I can help patients with ‘homemade’ tutorials to make navigating the Mirixa and OutcomesMTM platforms more manageable.” Kimble stated.
Kimble will be contacting patients from stores, 2, 5, 8, 11, 12, 26, & 27, and will be meeting with patients in these facilities.
The biggest challenge to Kimble in this new position is locating patient phone numbers; 1 out of 3 patients has a disconnected phone number. There is also a higher number of patients not wanting to partake in the service on the first contact attempt.
Currently, Angel Kimble may be reached by calling Fruth Pharmacy on Camden Road, in Huntington, WV at 304-429-5544.
