Fruth Pharmacy and the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation

February 2, 2010

Fruth Pharmacy and the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation
announced the first business-initiated fundraising project for the Children's Hospital project at Cabell Huntington Hospital. For each gallon of Fruth milk sold in all stores, five cents will go to the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation. Fruth milk is produced locally by the Broughton Food Company. Broughton will be participating in the project by adding a new label to the Fruth milk that will feature the Children's Hospital logo to increase consumer awareness of the new hospital. The project is expected to generate $25,000 for the Children's Hospital in 2010.

"Fruth Pharmacy is proud and honored to make a strong commitment to the Children's Hospital project," said Fruth President Bob Messick. "The children of West Virginia deserve to have a modern, state-of-the-art facility to meet their healthcare needs."

The Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital will provide updated health care to children in the underserved regions of southern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southeast Ohio. The modernized facility will be a training ground for new doctors studying pediatric specialties and will also enable the children in these regions to have the best treatment without having to travel long distances for surgeries and procedures.

"Fruth Pharmacy has long supported local hospital development," said Lynne Fruth, Chairwoman of the Fruth Board of Directors. "We're also excited to provide our customers with an easy way to contribute to the well-being of local children while making an everyday purchase."

Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation's Major Gifts Committee volunteer Christie Kinsey said Fruth officials were eager to be involved. "We are so grateful to have Fruth Pharmacy, a well-known community businesses, step up to support this Children's Hospital project," Kinsey said. "We have had so many individuals donate their time and money to this project, so it is especially moving to have a business become involved in helping us reach our goal for this project."
