Fruth Pharmacy Celebrates Annual Salute To Veterans In November
ALL STORE LOCATIONS
Fruth Pharmacy locations throughout West Virginia and Ohio honored all Veterans and active Military personnel and their families on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2010. Veterans received a free gift just for stopping by Fruth Pharmacy, and all Veterans were registered in a drawing to receive a beautiful eagle sculpture given away at each location. All Veterans, active military, and their families received a 10% discount on their purchases for the day, and each local store sponsored their own unique celebration to honor the local Veterans.
Fruth Pharmacy store at 204 2nd Ave. in downtown Gallipolis, Ohio cooked chili and served lunch to all Veterans under a festive tent on the parking lot. This gave Vets a chance to visit with other service personnel. The celebration at Fruth Pharmacy store at 120 West 2nd St. in Wellston, Ohio featured a 21 gun salute and the playing of Taps along with several highly decorated Veterans as guests. Fruth store at 259 State St. in Proctorville, Ohio hosted a luncheon on their lot for Veterans and their families. Guests enjoyed a home cooked meal and visited with others under a patriotic tent set up on the lot. Fruth store at 2501 Jackson Ave. in Point Pleasant, West Virginia celebrated by displaying a “Tree of Honor” in their store. Veterans placed photos and information about their individual military service on the tree and shared refreshments with other Veterans.
Veterans at Fruth store in Point Pleasant also registered to win a handmade quilt representing the different branches of the military which was made and donated by Fruth employee, Carol Scarberry. Fruth store at 16 Perry Morris Square in Milton, West Virginia honored the Vets with a beans and cornbread dinner and also made a donation to the local American Legion for the Veteran’s dinner. No matter what the celebration, the intent was the same to give our Veterans and their families a special day to remember.
Fruth Pharmacy takes this opportunity each year to recognize our Veterans and their families and thank them for the sacrifices that they have made for our country. We look forward to celebrating again next year with our Veterans.
