Fruth Pharmacy Donates to PVH Breast Cancer Program
Point Pleasant, W.Va. – (June 5, 2017) – Thanks to generous support from Fruth Pharmacy customers, Fruth Pharmacy was able to donate over $3,000 to PVH for use in their breast cancer programs.
Customers last fall participated in a 5k walk/run and a balloon launch to help raise funds for PVH’s mammography department.
Some of these funds will be used to help purchase or maintain equipment used in screening and testing for breast cancer.
Amy Nelson, Fruth Category Manager is the driving force behind Fruth Pharmacy’s breast cancer events. Nelson and her family have been touched by cancer in many ways.
“Amy has a big heart and a desire to help others in her community of Point Pleasant,” Melanie Sherman, Advertising/Graphic Specialist for Fruth began, “She often comes to me for requests to help create fundraisers for various people in the community, especially children and their parents who have been affected by cancer.”
Nelson started Fruth’s breast cancer event in 2013 and each year it grows in support. The event is held company wide with each Fruth location choosing an entity to assist with funding. In addition to the annual balloon launch, some locations also hold Poker runs, hot dog and bake sales, and more. If you would like to participate in this year’s upcoming event, please contact Amy Nelson at 304-675-1612, ext. 116.
