Fruth Pharmacy Endows Scholarship for Lawrence County Residents

POINT PLEASANT, W. Va, (September 14, 2012) – Friday, September 14th, Fruth Pharmacy announced it would endow a scholarship for a graduating high school senior from Lawrence County to attend Ohio University Southern, located at Ironton.

An initial $5,000 donation was made to create the Fruth Pharmacy Scholarship.  Lynne Fruth, President of Fruth Pharmacy, signed the documents and presented the donation to Matt Ward, Director of Development for Ohio University Southern.

The scholarship will begin being awarded in 2013.

Fruth Pharmacy has a long standing tradition of supporting higher education through the Fruth Scholarship Program.  Started by the company’s founder Jack Fruth in 1986, the Fruth Scholarship Program now offers over 25 scholarship opportunities each year.

With the opening of the company’s 26th store in Ironton scheduled for this fall, Fruth was pleased to make their first contribution to the local community.

President Lynne Fruth stated, “There is no better way to make a positive impact in a community than by helping local students pursue a college education.  We are very happy to be establishing this scholarship at Ohio University Southern, and we look forward to being able to participate in the local community in other ways.”
