Longtime Point Pleasant Area Residents Join Fruth Pharmacy
Point Pleasant, W.Va. (January 20, 2014) – Fruth Pharmacy would like to welcome two new pharmacists to the Point Pleasant location.
Heather Wood and Jennifer Henderson have been pharmacists in the region for many years, recently deciding to join the Fruth Family Pharmacy in Point Pleasant.
Heather Wood has been a pharmacist for over 15 years, earning her degree from West Virginia University in Morgantown. She has also been a Certified Immunizing Pharmacist for three years.
Ms. Wood decided she wanted to be a pharmacist during 8th grade when she job shadowed Pharmacist Bill Hockenberry. Her love of science and helping people made pharmacy a perfect career fit for her.
“Mason County has always been my home. I consider myself a hometown girl. I am lucky to be practicing the career that I love in the ‘Hometown Pharmacy’,” Ms. Wood stated when asked why she chose to join Fruth Pharmacy.
Ms. Wood is active in the Point Pleasant community. She and husband Chip, and children Ellie (10) and Ian (8), are actively involved in the Point Pleasant Sternwheel Regatta, Girl Scout Troop 4545, Boy Scouts, 4-H, PPIS PTA, youth soccer, and USA Track and Field.
Jennifer Henderson is a Point Pleasant High School graduate. After high school, she attended WVU School of Pharmacy, graduating in 1993. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington for 7 years, before coming to work for Fruth Pharmacy in 2000, where she interned while in school. She worked for Fruth Pharmacy in Point Pleasant for 12 years before being transferred to one of Fruth Pharmacy’s Gallipolis locations. Recently, Lynne Fruth asked Ms. Henderson if she would return to the Point Pleasant location.
“I enjoy working in retail, where you get to interact with the people in a community that you have known for years. I especially like helping patients select over the counter items – there are so many choices that is is easy for patients to be overwhelmed,” Ms. Henderson replied about returning to work at Fruth Pharmacy in Point Pleasant.
Ms. Henderson currently lives in the Apple Grove area with her husband Scott, their children Brandon and Allison, and their border collie, Bonnie.
Ms. Wood and Ms. Henderson are happy to serve Point Pleasant area patients. Please feel free to contact either pharmacist if you have questions about your medication.
