Lynne Fruth Elected to the Board of Directors For the National Association of Chain Drug Stores
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) announced the new officers for 2011-2012, two new Executive Committee members and four new Board of Directors members during the 2011 Annual Meeting.
Robert D. Loeffler, chief administrative officer of H-E-B, was elected as the new NACDS chairman of the Board of Directors, to succeed Larry J. Merlo, president and chief executive officer of CVS Caremark Corporation.
In addition, Gregory D. Wasson, president and chief executive officer of Walgreen Co., was elected vice chairman, and Robert J. Narveson, president and chief executive officer of Thrifty White Stores, was elected treasurer.
In addition to the election of the new officers for one-year terms, NACDS members also elected two new Executive Committee members: Michael C. Kaufmann, chief executive officer – pharmaceutical of Medicine Shoppe International, Inc., and Robert J. Narveson, president and chief executive officer of Thrifty White Stores.
Four new Board of Directors members were also elected to serve three year terms: Jose Barra, senior vice president, healthcare & beauty of Target Corporation; Jerry D. Cline, senior vice president, retail sales & marketing of Good Neighbor Pharmacy; Lynne Fruth, president and chairman of the board of
Fruth Pharmacy; and Steve Kaczynski, chief executive officer of Navarro Discount Pharmacies.
These four new Board members will join the other 21 members of the NACDS Board of Directors to develop NACDS’ policies and priorities. The NACDS Board meets three times a year to discuss current issues and concerns in the Retail Pharmacy industry.
