Lynne Fruth Heads to Rx Impact Day in Washington, DC

Fruth Pharmacy President Lynne Fruth, who is a member of the Board of Directors of NACDS (National Association of Chain Drug Stores) spent two days in Washington, DC on March 21st and 22nd with 250 other pharmacists and business leaders in the pharmacy industry. This group had meetings with Senators and Representatives of Congress to discuss issues of importance for pharmacy patients. The NACDS Board of Directors met with the Department of Health and Human Services, the Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services and many members of Congress and the Senate. During the second day, Lynne Fruth was accompanied by Dr. Krista Capehart (University of Charleston), and three UC Pharmacy students: Nikki Epperly, Brit Howden, and Deanna Lind. This group met with WV Senator Joe Manchin, Congressman David McKinley, and staff of Senator Jay Rockefeller and Congresswoman Shelley Moore-Capito. They also met with Ohio lawmakers, Congressmen Bill Johnson and Bob Gibbs. The team discussed and shared information about current legislation that could provide a greater level of services at community pharmacies. Rx Impact Day is held each year in Washington, DC to bring together pharmacists to educate and help shape public policy for the benefit of patients across the country.
